On one of the busiest streets in Elk will be active pedestrian crossing. The contract with the contractor was signed and soon will begin work.

Will be mounted system active crosswalks ZEBRA Standard Plus contains:

·         Active retroflecting S-4 Cable

·         motion sensors

·         pushbuttons

·         beacons to D-6

·         Red and white belts made in technology chemoutwardzalnej

Active pedestrian crossing Zebra Standard Plus aims to:

·         safe passage of a pedestrian crossing the road

·         inform the driver when you are approaching a passerby to pedestrian crossings

·         reduce the speed and the speed of the vehicle before you go

The main advantages of the system:

• synchronized system of pulsating horizontal lights (active retroflecting) and vertical (beacon of D6) increases the visibility of pedestrian at
• System pulsating lights to inform the driver about the pedestrian activity on when this is just 200 m away from the oncoming car (this is particularly important in case of bad visibility
• faster response on pedestrian activity on
• the system identifies and activate the pulsating light when the pedestrian is approaching a transition
• the driver shall be informed of pedestrian activity as long as the footer is on going
• the system turns off the blinking light only after you went walking with the transition

Contractor will be Przedsiębiorstwo Usługowo-Production "EUROASFALT" SP. z o.o.  in Olsztyn. The total cost of the investment is 68514.30 with

Expected date of completion of the works is half the December 2017.

The first active pedestrian crossing was established in Ełk on ul. Sikorski, close to the top plate of the pitch with artificial surface (at the end of April 2014). The total cost of installation of the system is ok. 35 thousand. zł.
