Today (29 January) held a ceremonial opening of the headquarters of the District Command State fire in Zator in Elk. Modernization began in 2009, while the rebuilt the Watchtower was put into service in the current year.

The total value of the investment is completed. £ 4 million. The vast majority of the funds came from the State budget. Measures on expansion of the unit provided also local governments of Elk and the County ełckie.

Elk Fire Department's today also with new specialized vehicles: car technology and a rescue boat.

The event took part Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and administration, Jarosław Zieliński-m.in. for the operation of the fire department. He expressed his satisfaction with the putting into service of a modern building. In addition, he thanked the President of Elk Thomas Andrukiewiczowi support ełckich firefighters.

To use was also a simulation and educational "Wayfinder", that will be able to use children and young people. This is the second room in Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, which is in real way demonstrates the effects of the outbreak of a fire in the room.
