The project "improving the availability of transport the subregional Elk by rebuilding roads that connect to the TEN-T network (DK16): Street Cologne and Suwałki" has funding from the European regional development fund under the regional operational programme of Warmia and Mazury for years 2014-2020 in the amount of $13,550,982.34. Will be implemented in the years 2016-2017.

The project will contribute to improve the level of safety for road users through the use of the following solutions:
-reconstruction of the traffic lights at the intersection of ul. Suwałki with ul. Łukasiewicz and ul. The garden,
-construction of sewage systems but using junction,-construction of islands in a place to go for hiking,
-the use of steel barriers and protective,
-the construction of sidewalks on ul. Cologne,
and affect the improvement of traffic by removing gaps in capacity by:
-the construction of bike paths on both streets,
-improvement of the surface of the road,
-reconstruction of intersections (channelling traffic separation lanes to turn, the widening of lanes. Kolonia).
On both streets LED lighting will also be installed.

Invitation to tender for the reconstruction of the street of Suwalki already has been announced. Work will begin later this year.
